General Note on DRIP (Duration: April 2020 to March 2030)
Background
Dam Rehabilitation & Improvement Project (DRIP) is one of the flagship projects of the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation. DRIP is a State sector scheme with Central component. DRIP II & III is implemented in 18 States & 2 Central Organisations with a duration of 10 years (April 2020 to March 2030) i.e. each phase having 6 years duration with 2 years overlap. DRIP II & III covers around 600 numbers of dams all over entire country availing fund of Rs.10, 200 Cr and out of these dams, 140 numbers of dams are funded with Rs.940 Cr. Out of this Rs.940 Cr., world bank funded Rs.658 Cr (70%) and Rs.282 Cr.(30%) is funded by State Government of Maharashtra.
DRIP II Proposal of Maharashtra State of Rs. 1170.75 Cr comprising of Rehabilitation & Improvement of 173 No. of Dams (Class I- 58, Class II- 72 & Class III- 43) was submitted vide GoM WRD Letter Dated.28/08/2017.
After approval of Ministry of Finance & Concurrence from the World Bank Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation informed Government of Maharashtra regarding Financial Outlay of Rs. 940 Crores for 167 No. of Dams vide Letter Dated 07/03/2019. Government of Maharashtra has approved 140 No. of Dams for inclusion in DRIP 2 & 3, vide GoM Marathi Letter Dated 29/08/2019

In accordance with the Department of Economic Affairs, “Readiness” Criteria for World Bank's loan approval, Bids of at least 30% of the total loan amount must be at Work Order Stage by May 2020. For this purpose, 30 dams have been selected on priority basis

In accordance with above mentioned project, payment of Rs.9.09 Lacs to National Institute of Hydrology, Roorkee for carrying out Hydrological Study is done by Executive Director, VIDC Nagpur on 30/11/2019. Our of above mentioned project, Hydrological Study is completed for Wan Project and study for rest of projects are going to be completed by December end.

Formation of SPMU
State Project Monitoring Unit is formed for implementation of Dam Rehabilitation & Improvement Project vide GoM, WRD, GR Dated.11/04/2019 on the line of Central Project Monitoring Unit (CPMU) established by Director, DSO, CWC, New Delhi.
Formation of State Level Steering Committee
State Level steering Committee is formed under the Chairmanship of Secretary CAD & WRM for effective implementation of Dam Rehabilitation & Improvement Project vide GoM, WRD, GR Dated.12/04/2019.
Formation of DSRP
Four Dam Safety Review Panels, No. 1 for Nagpur, No. 2 for Aurangabad, no. 3 for Pune & No. 4 for Konkan, Nashik & Amravati are formed for implementation of Dam Rehabilitation & Improvement Project vide GoM, WRD, GR Dated.11/04/2019
Hydrological Review (Design Flood) Study
Priority 30 dams Hydrological Review Study was allotted. Out of 30 Priority Dams 20 Dams Hydrological Review Study is completed by CWC by May 2020
DSRP Visits
DSRP visits were completed for 24 dams. Remaining 06 dams DSRP Visits will be completed by June, 2020.
Appointment of Environment & Social Expert
Appointment of Experts is planned by July 31, 2020
Status of Dam Rehabilitation & Improvement Project ( Phase- 2)
To satisfy 30% Readiness Criteria i.e., at least Bid Costing Rs. 146.00 Cr. Must be progressed to work order Level by June 2020, 9 projects viz. Bhatsa, Bhandardara ,Wan, Sapan, Dimbhe, Koyna, Kanher, Dyanganga& Upper Wardha in first round for submission to CPMU, CWC, New Delhi are sorted out of 30 Priority Projects.
9 SBD costing 295.04 Cr are submitted for approval; 6 SBD / PST are approved costing Rs. 198.57 Cr.

It is expected that all Dams in Maharashtra shall be safe for coming 50 years after implementing all above mentioned points as per necessity
